The Building Code of Australia (BCA) has a number of requirements in place to improve fire safety performance, particularly in multi-dwelling buildings such as duplexes, townhouses, row houses, apartments and similar.
In these building types, the walls that separate each dwelling play an important role in minimising the spread of fire from one home to the next. Depending on the classification of the building (Class 1 and 10; Class 2 to 9), requirements to plastering will vary from normal builds. Additional compliance also needs to be met if a building is located in a bushfire prone area.
TM linings has the experience and is up-to-date on all fire ratings compliance requirements, ensuring your new building or renovation will pass inspection with flying colours.

One of our display homes in Box Hill required a curved ceiling over the entry void to blend in with the style of this French Provincial home. I spoke with Michael about this feature and then met Joe on site – without any fuss they made it happen and now this ceiling will be a major showcase of this display home

TM Linings Director, Michael, is proactive – as an example he advised us to change full height tiling jobs to a square set, which has saved return trips and build time for us. From Michael’s involvement, we know that best practice will always be applied and we are kept up-to-date, first hand on any developments in the plasterboard industry
